a re-visit.

It's been a while since I've posted on my blog, I've had a whirlwind 2015 with a lot of unexpected changes and things happen. I won't go into too much detail as it was mainly stress in different areas of my life. A lot of things have since changed, and that's not a bad thing, I've tried to see the positives within every negative that has happened, which has helped my mindset going forward. I am much more content with things at the moment than before and am really looking forward to what 2016 has in store for me. That little rant out the way, I thought I would do a little list of goals that I want to achieve this year. Not new years resolutions as such, I find they don't quite suit me and get broken way to easily (hand in biscuit tin on Jan 2nd...). I would just personally rather have goals throughout the year to work towards, that are easier to achieve rather than one list right at the beginning!

Learn to appreciate the little things, and don't stress everything.
Something we all take for granted, lots of things last year, including loosing my amazing Grandad, have made me realise that the small things in life are taken for granted far too often. Whether it be taking the two seconds to appreciate a nice day or a catch up coffee with a friend, it makes such a difference to your day when you count the positives in the day rather than the negatives. Stress is far too easy to fall back into, and I have learnt a lot in the past year about it. Is this situation you're stressing out about going to make you as stressed in five years time? Probably not. I have tried to remember this little quote more and more lately to help keep a positive mindset rather than a negative one!

Get back into blogging.
My lovely boyfriend redesigned my blog layout slightly to clean it up a bit in the summer last year and I haven't even had the chance to fully use it, because of other commitments getting in the way. I really want to do more lookbook/style posts, as well as the usual beauty posts this year, maybe some lifestyle/foodie posts too? I do need to sit down and plan a little blogging schedule (loves a to do list) for the next few months to get back into the swing of things.

Travel more.
I didn't go away anywhere last year because I had a hectic time at work, but I love to travel and would love to see more of the world. It's now so cheap and easy to fly away for a weekend with things like Airbnb and some great deals on flights becoming so accesible, that I've been looking into doing it more. I'm (hopefully) planning on going inter railing in the summer with my other half to see more of Europe and have heard good experiences about travelling by train, so that's one ticked off the list! I would love to visit Asia, Australia, Canada and more of America too, and maybe Sweden too.

Get back into fitness.
I used to gym 2-3 times a week and eat extremely clean/healthy, although sometimes a little excessive, it does feel good to have a routine and I did notice a big difference in my health. Somewhere along the way last year I fell off the health bandwagon and haven't quite managed to jump back on. Although it is noticeably harder to get back into both once you've stopped, I've started to make healthier choices since the new year and looking at joining a new gym. I personally find doing the two separately to start off with helps me maintain them for longer rather than jumping into both head first. Also looking at getting back into yoga, so any good classes or workshop recommendations in the Brighton & Hove area, let me know! :)

This is something I always always talk about but goes nowhere. When I was younger I would read through the entire children's section of the library in my summer holidays. It was like my brain literally ate books. Growing up, other things distract us and take us away from sitting down with a good book for a hour or so, ie; being attached to your phone 24/7.... This year I would really like to finish the 4 or 5 half-finished books I've had sitting on my bedside table for a while now. I think sitting down with a good book, a cuppa tea & putting your iphone/ipad/etc on silent for even a hour or two a week is really good for the mind! Something I should definitely do more of.

Some random but relatable goals, that I would like to achieve within the next 12 months, I would put organisation down but my life is already covered in post it notes, to do list app's and multi-coloured  highlighted diary pages, so that one is fully covered! Some things never change...

What are your goals for 2016? Also recommendations for places to travel, food, fitness and blogging tips greatly appriciated :)

Power to The Brow | ABH Brow Wiz

Since buying the Anastasia Beverly Hill's Dipbrow Pomade  I've been a ABH convert and addict, I definitely did not take enough advantage in Sephora! Their products are ones I'm always lusting after, especially after seeing them used in so many US make up tutorials. It's a shame we don't always get the new releases in the UK but hopefully soon we will! I'm loving the strong eyebrow trend at the moment, I pluck my own brows to their natural shape at home, and try to leave without going OTT on them as previous years!  Tempted to try threading next, if anyone has any tips or recommendations?

New Foundation Loving | Vichy Dermablend*

It's been a busy past few weeks with my new job and other bits & pieces to sort out, but I'm finally back to writing posts and editing photos, so forgive the online silence! Not much has changed in terms of make up shopping though, rest assured I've got enough content to keep my chatting for the next few weeks. I've also had havoc with my skin still, which hasn't been fun at all but I will do a post on that separately as it's a skincare issue that some of you may or may not find relevant/helpful! Back today with a new product I was lucky enough to receive from Vichy...

Colour Correcting & Why I Love It

Breaking my blogging silence (it's been a busy few weeks!) with alllll the colours of the rainbow today! I've been colour correcting as the first step to my base routine for a good few months now, and have found it makes a lot of difference once finished. I picked up this MUA Colour-Correct palette in Superdrug a few weeks back & have loved using it for it's multi-functioning purposes all in one place. I love how easy and simple colour correcting your face can be, and not be totally serious and

Throwback Thursday | Matte Foundations Get a Revisit

I think we all know and (mostly) love the hilarious hashtag that is #ThrowbackThursday on various social media sites. Que the 'hilarious' photo's your best mate upload of the night you thought that home haircut & outfit was so on point....cringe. This post is pretty similar, after I gave in and gave two things a revisit that I didn't think I'd be doing anytime soon! One being matte foundations, and the other being a L'Oreal foundation, not something I thought I'd be doing again for quite some time!
